Corporate community support
We Support
At DL Good, giving back is part of who we are. Managing Director David Good actively supports industry, sport, and community, while the wider Good Bros group contributes to a range of important charitable and community initiatives.
Causes we support
Apprenticeship Training Trust
DL Good is proud to support Phil Thorpe in his role as Chair of the Apprenticeship Training Trust (ATT).
As a business with a long-standing commitment to the plumbing and trades industry, DL Good recognises the importance of investing in apprentices, developing skilled tradespeople, and creating strong career pathways for the next generation.
Phil’s involvement with ATT aligns closely with DL Good’s commitment to training, industry leadership, and giving back to the sector. We fully support his contribution to ATT and the work the Trust undertakes to strengthen apprenticeship training and help develop the future workforce of New Zealand’s trades industry.
Auckland Master Plumbers
David Good’s role on the board of Auckland Master Plumbers reflects his commitment to the growth and professionalism of the plumbing industry. Through this position, he contributes to shaping standards, promoting best practice, and supporting training initiatives that help plumbers across Auckland deliver high-quality, reliable services to their clients.
Beyond governance, David actively engages with members and industry stakeholders, offering guidance on financial strategy and business management. His involvement helps ensure that Auckland Master Plumbers remains a strong, respected body that champions the interests of both individual tradespeople and the wider industry.
Rescue Helicopter
The wider Good Bros group supports critical emergency services such as the Rescue Helicopter, providing funding and resources that help maintain rapid-response capabilities across Auckland and beyond. Their contribution ensures essential life-saving support is available when communities need it most.
Through this involvement, the group reinforces its commitment to community safety and well-being, helping sustain operations, equipment, and training. By supporting the Rescue Helicopter, they make a tangible difference in people’s lives while upholding the values of service and responsibility that underpin the company’s broader approach to giving back.
MAGS Row (Mount Albert Grammar School Rowing Incorporated)
David Good is actively involved with MAGS Row, supporting the Mount Albert Grammar School rowing squad both on and off the water. From towing boats and equipment to helping manage logistics before and after regattas, he ensures the team has what it needs to train and compete effectively.
His commitment goes beyond the practical support - David helps foster a culture of teamwork, discipline, and resilience, empowering young athletes to develop skills that extend far beyond rowing. Through this involvement, he contributes to a programme that shapes not only competitive rowers but also confident, capable young people in the wider community.
Canteen
The wider Good Brothers group actively supports Canteen, contributing to initiatives that provide practical and emotional support for young people affected by cancer. Their involvement helps ensure vital programs, resources, and services are available to those who need them most.
By supporting Canteen, the group reinforces its commitment to community well-being and youth development. Their contribution helps create a positive impact in the lives of families and young people, reflecting the company’s values of care, support, and giving back to the wider community.
The Redwood Park Golf Club
At The Redwood Park Golf Club, David Good plays a valuable role in supporting the ongoing strength of a long-standing community club. His board involvement brings together practical business experience, sound financial judgement, and a steady understanding of what it takes to keep a member-focused organisation operating well.
Rather than contributing from a distance, David takes an active interest in the life of the club itself. He supports the people, events, and everyday decisions that help shape a positive experience for members and visitors. His involvement helps ensure the club remains more than a place to play golf; it is a welcoming local environment where people connect, participate, and feel part of a strong community.
Site Safe
DL Good is proud to support the wider building and construction industry by enabling National services Manager Phil Thorpe to serve on the Site Safe Board for two years from 2024 to 2026. By providing the time and support required for this governance role, DL Good actively contributes to improving health, safety, and industry best practice across New Zealand. Phil's involvement ensures the experience and perspectives of contractors, facilities managers, and trade professionals help shape safer workplaces, reinforcing DL Good's commitment to leadership, collaboration, and raising standards throughout the industry.
